  stayed in one of the larger double rooms, the room itself was on the warm side even at the end of January with the radiator turned off. With it being an old abbey the windows are drafty. our room was at the front of the building and rather noisy especially early morning when the staff are arriving and deliveries begin - we were woken each morning at around 6.30 by this. Also people standing outside chatting while they smoked was noisy as well. Lots of hot water for showering. Nice to see cups in the room which actually made an adequate amount rather than the tiny tea cups found in most hotels. Breakfast looked impressive however i only eat fruit and yogurt in a morning and was surprised to find out that the berries on offer seemed to be frozen as they were a little bitter and soggy. Was nice to get a pot of tea and coffee rather than just a cup or a pot which would only give you one and a half cups. Staff all very friendly and polite Lots of areas to sit and relax Would stay again but request a room at the back of the Abbey

  Just had 3 night dancing break. Our superior room was excellent as was the service. Check in staff are lovely friendly and helpful. Dining room staff also very nice. However the food did not really match. Starters were ok. Main courses often overcooked especially Sunday night. Cabbage ugh fish tough and meal itself was very dry. Desserts for all three nights were very boring all just from the freezer except fruit salad which was mostly Apple. No offer of ice cream or sorbet this would greatly improve the dessert menu and it's the first time I've not seen it offered. We will come again and hopefully Chef will have improved. By the way Salmon on first night was excellent.

  Lovely listed building with original features. Staff very friendly and attentive. Our executive double room was spacious and clean. The whole building was a little cold for our comfort. I'm a great fan of a decent powerful shower and tend to judge my stays using this as one of the criteria. Sadly The Abbey shower was more of a slow trickle. However, food and service made up for it and I would stay again.
